I’m sorry, but regrets you hope for

I’m in a shell? Then let me be so.
It’s anyway for you too late.

I raise my hands and stand as frozen
To feel the water from the sky.
My legs are roots, my arms are branches,
I bathe myself in nature’s cry.

Within me seasons running wild,
I let them follow unrestrained.
No inner fight, no grief, no sorrow -
It’s all in past already paid.

I take a breath of subtle moonlight
And then exhale thick morning mist.
The time has stopped. The time continues.
Let’s see what next is on my list…

Merry faces all around.
Day before there was a slaughter
And with blood still squelches ground.

In the grate roars hungry fire,
Drunken shadows hop and skip.
I oblivion desire
And no promises to keep.

Will another bloody battle
Fresh my throat with a gulp?
